February 7, 2016 – A few days ago Crest Link was again protagonist of professional golfing, this time as official apparel of 2016 SMBC Singapore Open at the Asian Tour. Held from January 28 to February 1 at the Sentosa Golf Club, the event had an exciting victory by South Korean Song Young Han against the current #1 world player, Jordan Spieth.

And it was exciting because inclement weather caused multiple delays during the week, forcing the match to conclude on Monday. Song Young Han  finally was able to control his nerves and finish the remaining two holes at par for a total of 272 strokes, just one less than Jordan Spieth, who carded a brilliant 66 in Sentosa.

Crest Link again fulfilled its mission perfectly as the official sponsor of the event for the golf apparel, providing clothing for 400 volunteers and 100 staff members and the week’s caddy bibs, and also supplying the 153 participants of the Pro-Am.

The 2016 SMBC Singapore Open has served for Crest Link as a platform to show the latest clothing collection 2016, which was visible in the official golf shop, the staff’s clothing and the banners around the course – here with Darren Clarke – to some 20,000 spectators present at the tournament (not including the TV audience).

Crest Link polo shirts and caps with the logo of the event were the most popular products for consumers at the golf shop.

The tournament at the golf course had a significant presence of Crest Link ambassadors, with four players among which the American player Brett Munson stood out for his performance, coming 8º with 277 strokes. The Indian player S.S.P. Chawrasia (38º) also made the cut and joining the image of the brand were two other golfers, Chiragh Kumar from India, and the local golfer Choo Tze Huang.

The apparel of the Malaysian company is perfect for the South Asian golfers, as its clothing offers efficient moisture absorption and evaporation, it feels smooth and lighter than the traditional cotton golf fabrics, keeps golfers cool and dry at all times, gives protection against UV rays and reduces fatigue.

This is possible thanks to Crest Link technical fabric innovations such Micro-Dri, Micro-Dri A-Vent, Micro-Dri UV or Comp-Tech. All of these have been designed with the priority of putting golfers and their performance first, beyond anything else.

As an established brand for many years, Crest Link is increasing its global presence and the 2016 SMBC Singapore Open has been another perfect event for showing its leadership in the golf apparel market.
