While <strong>Morning Drive<\/strong> and <strong>Golf Central<\/strong> programs will air feature stories on the athletes on October 14 &amp; 15, a Golf Channel reporter will be live in Mesquite on Friday, 17.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>ParaLong Drive Worlds<\/strong> features disabled golfers from 10 countries with champions crowned in Overall, leg amputee, multiple amputee, one-arm, paramobile-paralyzed, wounded soldier and women\u2019s divisions. <strong>Jared Brentz<\/strong>, a double-leg amputee from Nashville, Tenn., is the defending overall champion after stroking a 409-yard drive on May 9 at the Mesquite NV ParaLong Drive Nationals.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe opportunity to showcase the men and women of the ParaLong Drive adds another element to Golf Channel\u2019s themed Long Drive Month in October, with more compelling stories and exciting competition,\u201d<\/em> said <strong>Adam Hertzog<\/strong>, Golf Channel\u2019s VP News and Studio Productions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2014\/09\/MesquiteNVParaLongDriveNationals2014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22974\" src=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2014\/09\/MesquiteNVParaLongDriveNationals2014.jpg\" alt=\"MesquiteNVParaLongDriveNationals2014\" width=\"640\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2014\/09\/MesquiteNVParaLongDriveNationals2014.jpg 640w, https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2014\/09\/MesquiteNVParaLongDriveNationals2014-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This will be the third different event that has brought Golf Channel to Mesquite.\u00a0 In addition to the <strong>ParaLong Drive<\/strong>, Golf Channel is in its second year of covering the <strong>RE\/MAX World Long Drive Championship Week<\/strong> (Sept. 20-27), which will air as part of three specials during October. The first time was in 2007 when Golf Channel filmed \u201c<strong>Big Break Mesquite<\/strong>\u201d at the Falcon Ridge Golf Course.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe couldn\u2019t be more pleased to have Golf Channel back in Mesquite at the Home of Long Drive and to highlight the amazing stories of our ParaLong Drivers,\u201d<\/em> said <strong>Bryan Dangerfield<\/strong>, Director of the Mesquite NV ParaLong Drive Local Organizing Committee. <em>\u201cOur athletes are thrilled with competing on the World Championship Grid and the idea of reaching out and inspiring others with disabilities to stay positive, active and to hone their golf skills.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <strong>Mesquite NV ParaLong Drive Worlds<\/strong> is produced by the Mesquite Local Organizing Committee and presented by the Eureka Casino Resort, Golf Mesquite Nevada and Mesquite Regional Business.
