\u201cThis business is a tech business,\u201d<\/em> explains Christopher Best<\/strong>, CEO of Pitch Ireland. \u201cIt\u2019s a hospitality business, but it\u2019s driven by good tech. If you come here, you\u2019re expecting a 10 out of 10 experience on the technology \u2014 and that includes TrackMan and Panasonic.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Designing for a complex, high-performance environment<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Delivering that level of performance required careful planning from the outset. The venue, located in a basement space beneath one of Dublin\u2019s busiest streets, presented a series of structural and technical challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we first came in, it was essentially a blank space,\u201d<\/em> explains Martin Kelly<\/strong>, Director at MKS TEC. \u201cWe had to work from architectural plans to design the layout of each bay, the positioning of the equipment, and the overall system.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

One of the most significant challenges was the lack of traditional ceiling structures. Instead of solid mounting surfaces, the installation team had to work around acoustic panels and open infrastructure, requiring creative solutions for both projector placement and TrackMan mounting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn\u2019t form ceilings in the bays, so it was really about figuring out where to put everything and how to mount it securely,\u201d<\/em> Kelly says. \u201cAt the same time, we were dealing with a lot of cabling and integration, because this isn\u2019t just a golf venue \u2014 it\u2019s also showing live sports and hosting events.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Each bay needed to support not only golf simulation but also broadcast content, requiring seamless integration between projection, computing, and AV systems. The result is a multi-functional environment capable of switching effortlessly between use cases throughout the day.<\/p>\n

At the core of each bay is TrackMan\u2019s IO system, which captures detailed ball and club data and feeds it into high-performance computers. The visual output \u2014 whether a virtual golf course, interactive game, or live sports broadcast \u2014 is delivered via Panasonic laser projectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe data is almost instantaneous,\u201d<\/em> says Kelly. \u201cAs soon as the ball hits the screen, it\u2019s processed and displayed straight away. Everything has to work together smoothly.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

For Best, this versatility is central to the venue\u2019s appeal. \u201cYou can play games, you can play real courses, you can watch sport \u2014 it\u2019s not just golf,\u201d<\/em> he says. \u201cIt\u2019s a social experience. For MKS TEC, the decision to specify Panasonic projectors was based on long-term experience and practical considerations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been using Panasonic projectors for about six years now,\u201d<\/em> says Kelly. \u201cWe know they\u2019re reliable, we know they\u2019re flexible, and we know they deliver the quality customers expect.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In a venue like Pitch Dublin<\/strong>, where each bay has slightly different dimensions, installation flexibility is critical. Features such as lens adjustment and geometric correction allow each projector to be precisely aligned, even in non-uniform spaces.<\/p>\n
