May 21, 2025 – Toptracer<\/strong>, the world\u2019s number one range technology, has announced their month-long virtual competition on Old Course Reversed at St Andrews<\/strong> garnered 41,354 rounds played by golfers from over 35 countries.<\/p>\n

The virtual tournament was inspired by St Andrews Links bringing back the clockwise routing (reversed) to the Old Course from Thursday, April 3 to Tuesday, April 8. For the entire month of April, golfers from around the world had the chance to compete virtually for a chance to win a tee time on Old Course Reversed in 2026.<\/p>\n

The best score and unofficial winner of Old Course Reversed – Global Challenge was 12-year-old Chaemin Kim<\/strong> of South Korea with a score of 51 at BGJ Golf Club in the city Gwangju. Kim visited the range 30 times during April and while he made 184 starts, he set the mark on only his sixth try.<\/p>\n

\u201cBGJ is my favourite place to play because of the Toptracer Range and all the different games available to make practice way more fun,\u201d<\/em> says Chaemin Kim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying Old Course Reversed was so cool because of the trickiness of the layout and I definitely want to continue competing in these global challenges.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While Kim had the lowest score, the Global Challenge rules state only players 18 years or older can claim the prize, so Aiden Newman<\/strong> of Plymouth, Michigan will have the honor to play Old Course Reversed in 2026 with his impressive score of 53 in just 23 starts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I shot a 53 so early on in the competition, I thought that would hold up considering I played flawless golf,\u201d<\/em> says Aiden Newman<\/strong>, a college golfer at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.<\/p>\n

\u201cI visit my local Toptracer Range pretty frequently because I get to see real ball flight in an indoor dome rather than on a simulator. It\u2019s perfect for the long offseason we have here.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A secondary prize was also given to Mr. Kuguminato<\/strong> from Japan who recorded five holes-in-one on the 11th hole in the \u201cclosest to the pin\u201d challenge where 69 holes-in-one were recorded on 3,953,882 shots. His dedication was unprecedented throughout the month as he took an unfathomable 7,790 attempts on the reversed 11th during April.<\/p>\n

Playing at Golf Club Luminous, outside of Nagoya in Japan, he visited the range 44 times and finished 10th in the main competition with a score of 56. Kuguminato also won the same competition during The Open at Royal Troon last year, when he achieved a similarly incredible six aces on hole No. 8 in one week.<\/p>\n
