All Square Golf – Titleist, top brand at European Amateur Championship
September 22, 2014 – Titleist was the most played golf equipment brand at the International European Amateur Championship, played in early August, according to All Square Golf, the social network for golfers and event sponsor.
The list was compiled from the 61 leading amateurs who made the cut in the event at The Duke’s Golf Club, St Andrews (Scotland), using the information from the ‘What’s in my bag’ section of their All Square profiles.
Each player has their own personal profile on All Square where they can tag and review courses they’ve played, upload photos and videos of their swing for peer review and interact with friends and other golfers.
The survey, covering Driver, Woods, Hybrids, Irons, Wedges, Putter and Ball, revealed Titleist to be the most popular manufacturer overall with 77% of the field putting the brand in play in at least one of these categories.
Without taking into account the brand of golf ball used, where Titleist dominates with 75%, the brand remains the most popular with 64% putting the manufacturer’s clubs in play – its nearest competitors were TaylorMade (28%), Ping (20%) and Callaway (16%).
In the Driver category, Titleist topped the list on 36% with TaylorMade second on 23%. Ping and Callaway were third and fourth, being used by 16% and 15% respectively.
Nearly 50% of the players surveyed used Titleist irons and Ping was the second most-used brand in the category on 15%, while Callaway was third on 12%.
Titleist was number one in each category; however, Odyssey came closest of all the other brands to knocking it from its perch with 31% of the Putter category compared with Titleist’s 38%.
By REDACCIÓNArthur de Rivoire, All Square co-founder, said: “Most golfers naturally have an interest in the equipment other players are using, what’s new and how they might improve their game by changing what they currently play with. All Square is like a digital clubhouse where golfers can share experiences of courses and equipment online with friends and like-minded individuals.”
