Callaway Golf – The Golf Multinational Officially Steps Onto the Pickleball Court as a New Player

12 February 2026 – Callaway Golf continues to expand its horizons. After more than four decades leading innovation in the world of golf, the Carlsbad, California-based multinational has taken a further strategic step by officially announcing its entry into the pickleball market, one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States.
This move comes just weeks after the company publicly announced, in mid-January 2026, its corporate rebrand. Topgolf Callaway Brands officially reverted to the name Callaway Golf, reinforcing its focus as a “pure-play golf” company — fully focused on the golf business and on the brands within its portfolio: Callaway, Odyssey, TravisMathew and OGIO.
However, this reaffirmation of identity has quickly extended its vision beyond the traditional boundaries of golf. This week, the company formally announced its arrival in the world of pickleball, a sport that already counts more than 40 million players in the United States and has become a genuine social and sporting phenomenon.
The relationship between golf and pickleball is increasingly evident. Numerous North American resorts and golf clubs are adding pickleball courts as a complement to their sporting and social offering, turning it into a high-potential alternative activity. Not surprisingly, pickleball has had its own dedicated space at the last three editions of the PGA Show in Orlando since 2024 — the most important annual event in the golf industry — confirming its growing integration within the golfing ecosystem.

Callaway therefore joins other golf-origin brands, such as Mizuno, PXG and possibly PING, which have also decided to enter this emerging market. For the Californian company, moving into pickleball represents a strategic expansion of its sporting and active lifestyle business, applying the full breadth of its technical expertise accumulated in golf club development to the design of equipment for this racket sport.
As the company has stated in its official communications, this is “a whole new ball game”: a new playing field in which Callaway aims to transfer decades of innovation, R&D and manufacturing excellence.
Callaway Inertia Paddles: Golf Technology applied to Pickleball
Callaway’s entry into pickleball materialises with a high-level launch: the new line of Callaway Inertia Pickleball Paddles, approved by USA Pickleball, now available online at a price of $249.99. PGA Tour pros like Sam Burns and Blades Brown already play with them.
Backed by Callaway’s deep knowledge of golf, sophisticated materials, world-class R&D and advanced manufacturing expertise, the new Inertia paddles have been engineered to deliver powerful and consistent performance on court.

Power Edge Technology: Stability and Precision
At the heart of the new Inertia Paddle is the innovative Power Edge technology, based on a perimeter weighting system that maximises Moment of Inertia (MOI). This configuration delivers: Greater stability through impact; an expanded sweet spot; controlled, effortless power; reduced paddle twist on off-centre strikes; and more precise and consistent shots.
The result is a paddle that performs reliably even on mis-hits, providing players with added confidence on every shot.
High-Performance Face
The impact surface is constructed from unidirectional T700 carbon fibre, reinforced with a stabilising fibreglass layer. This combination provides an optimal balance of: Explosive power; spin generation; control; and long-term durability.
Advanced Ergonomic Grip
The wrap-style grip has been designed to deliver a firm yet comfortable feel, enabling superior handling and complete control during extended sessions on court.

Specifications and Availability
The Callaway Inertia Paddle is available in five colours — white, black, blue, green and red — and can now be pre-ordered via the brand’s online store, within its newly created pickleball category.
From golf clubs to Pickleball paddles
Under the slogan “Golf Club Technology in a Pickleball Paddle”, Callaway highlights how decades of innovation in golf club design have served as the foundation for developing a next-generation pickleball paddle.
The company’s own R&D team explains that the objective was to transfer the same engineering principles that made its drivers and irons famous into the pickleball arena, creating a product capable of making a tangible difference on court.
“In pickleball, every moment matters,” the brand states in its presentation — from winning a long 16-shot rally to executing the perfect third-shot drop. Those are the moments for which the new Callaway Inertia has been created.
A Complete Ecosystem: The OGIO Pickleball Collection
To reinforce its commitment, Callaway is accompanying the paddle launch with the new OGIO All-New Pickleball Collection, a line of bags and accessories specifically designed for pickleball players.
With this move, the company enters the market not only with a flagship product, but with a comprehensive proposal covering equipment, accessories and style — following the model that has delivered such strong results in the golf sector.

A Forward-Looking Move
Callaway’s arrival in pickleball confirms that the sport has evolved beyond a passing trend into an industry with enormous potential. And if a company with Callaway’s heritage, technological strength and reputation has chosen to invest in it, it is because pickleball has truly come of age.
While breaking into a market dominated by well-established brands such as Onix, Pickleball Now, Selkirk, Paddletek and Joola — alongside long-standing names like Head, Wilson, Prince and Babolat — will not be easy, it is clear that Callaway’s premium product positioning, combined with its direct access to retail stores and pro shops at resorts and golf clubs in virtually every part of the world, provides the company with significant growth potential.
With the new Callaway Inertia Paddles, the brand begins a new chapter beyond the tee and the green, demonstrating that innovation knows no sporting boundaries.
Because, as Callaway puts it, this really is… A Whole New Ball Game.
