On February 7th, all the musicians from Le Concert des Nations orchestra, the choir of La Capella Nacional de Catalunya, the soloists, and Maestro Jordi Savall, in collaboration with the Palau de la Música in Valencia, will participate in a benefit concert, organized altruistically, to raise funds and offer support to those affected by the DANA. All expenses for this concert will be fully covered by the Centre Internacional de Música Antiga Foundation.
On this occasion, they will perform an unpublished version of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, the result of a revision and expansion of the original manuscript by Luca Guglielmi, who worked with profound respect for Mozart’s compositional material.
With excellent young soloists and the combined expertise of 30 singers from the La Capella Nacional de Catalunya and 30 musicians from Le Concert des Nations, Jordi Savall will perform the interpretation of this masterpiece by a genius of the symphonic-choral repertoire.
Tickets for the concert will be free, and a portion of them will be distributed by the Palau de la Música among the 32 musical societies directly affected by the natural disaster. The remaining seats can be reserved starting January 28th, at 10 a.m., through the website of the Valencian Auditorium.
This initiative not only aims to provide a moment of solidarity and hope to the Valencian people but also to keep alive the memory of those affected by this tragedy. For this reason, a “virtual row” will be enabled for donations to the mentioned musical societies that have been directly impacted, as well as to the Generalitat Valenciana, which will channel the funds to help the affected individuals.
This benefit concert is part of the first Professional Academy of the year within the YOCPA (Youth Orchestra and Choir Professional Academies) project, supported by the Creative Europe program. This project aims to recover and promote European musical heritage while training young musicians and singers using historical criteria and performance techniques to support their professionalization on the international stage.
