The Maestro Jordi Savall begins a new tour across the United States with the program Music of Fire and Love: Folías, Battles, and Lamenti; Glosados, a project that will be presented in a total of six concerts across the American continent.
With his legendary ensemble Hespèrion XXI, Jordi Savall has reunited a group of exceptional musicians, each a specialist in historical instruments, to bring centuries-old compositions to life. The program stands out for its combination of rigorous research and high-quality musical interpretation, offering the audience a sonic journey through European music of that period.
The performers joining Jordi Savall on this tour are Xavier Díaz-Latorre (vihuela, theorbo, and guitar), Andrew Lawrence-King (arpa doppia), Marco Vitale (harpsichord), Xavier Puertas (violone), and David Mayoral (percussion), with Savall himself as the director and performing on the treble viols
The tour will begin on April 10th at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral and will continue on April 11th in New York at the 92nd Street Y. On April 13th, the ensemble will perform in Boston at the Jordan Hall of the New England Conservatory of Music. The following week, the tour will continue with three more concerts: on April 15th at St. James-by-the-Sea Church in La Jolla, on April 16th at the Samueli Theatre in Costa Mesa, and will conclude on April 18th at the Green Music Center – Weill Hall in Rohnert Park.
