Antonio Vivaldi, The Four Seasons by Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations

Les Musiciennes Du Concert Des Nations – Antonio Vivaldi Academy is an ensemble of 20 highly talented young musicians from 8 different countries: Spain, France, Hungary, Poland, Austria, England, Russia and Japan, comprising eighteen string instruments: 9 violins, 4 viols, 3 cellos and 2 double basses, accompanied by the chitarrone/guitar and the harpsichord. This repertoire was led by the outstanding soloist Alfia Bakieva and Maestro Jordi Savall, who guided the ensemble towards the goal of excellence, discovery and shared experience. This new group follows the example of the old Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, creating a new and exclusively female space, which will provide a forum for study, respectful dialogue, professional development and dissemination of a repertoire spanning from the pre-Vivaldi era to Romanticism (1600-1850).

The academy of preparation took place from the 2nd to the 4th of July in Bellaterra, Spain (El Musical Escola). Musicians worked in Bellaterra for 3 days studying and practicing Vivaldi’s repertoire under the direction of Maestro Jordi Savall and violin virtuoso Alfia Bakieva.

The academy of perfection took place from the 3rd to the 7th of January 2024 in Cardona, Spain (Col·legiata de Sant Vicenç de Cardona). Musicians worked here over 5 days evolving their practice and recording a CD that will be released by the end of 2024.
